We make preserving the beautiful, natural look of wood easy.
Cutek Extreme is sold clear, which allows the wood to age gracefully into a beautiful silver patina on exposure to sunlight. However, if you’d like to retain the natural freshly oiled colour of the wood you’re working with, you can simply add a Colourtone to the clear oil. Choose one of our Colourtones which have been specifically developed to closely match many popular wood species. For best results, select a Colourtone that stays close to the natural shade of the wood species being coated.
Colour for reference only. The final colour on your project may vary from what is show here due to: Differences in monitor and printer calibrations; Effects of the natural wood colour and texture as Cutek Colourtone is transparent. Use the Dealer Locator on the website to ask your nearest Dealer for a premixed trial size to test on your project. It is important to not only test your Cutek trial size, but you also need to test on a small area of your project for proper colour before applying to the entire project.

Specially formulated Cutek Colourtones are available to mix with Cutek Extreme to maintain the natural wood colour character, delay silvering, and retain the “freshly oiled look” for longer. When selecting from the range of Colourtones allow for the wood colour to naturally lighten during the first three to eight months after application, as natural weathering and leaching occurs. Colour will last longer on rusticated, or band sawn lumber, and may be maximized by including the Colourtone in all subsequent applications of Cutek Extreme. If Colourtoned Cutek has faded over time, wash wood with Cutek ProClean and apply a single coat of Colourtoned Cutek Extreme to restore the original look of the protected lumber.
Please note that the natural colour of wood can vary significantly.
